The New Dawn Vallejo Corporation is partnering with the Vallejo Unified School District (VUSD) to provide sport’s activities for up to 200 children and youth. The children and youth ages 5-18 years old are eligible to participate in football, basketball, baseball, soccer and cheerleading.
THE SPORT’S ACTIVITIES PRIMARY GOALS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
1. Promote and encourage sportsmanship and ethics.
2. Motivate to increase their academic performance.
3. Create opportunities for the parents to volunteer and be engaged in the lives of their children.
Secondary benefits of the sport’s activities are reduction in the onset of diabetes and other conditions related to diet and exercise. Coordination with other afterschool programs and Greater Vallejo Recreation District (GVRD) sport’s programs will be done to prevent duplication. Information will be kept at the schools on the academic improvement for each child.
